Bits and pieces of information about Cooper shearing machinery and engines

4 MARCH 2008 - ON EBAY.COM.AU AT PRESENT THERE'S A NICE

COOPER SHEARING MACHINERY CATALOGUE

OUR COOPER ENGINE

We sort of inherited a 2 stand Cooper shearing outfit a few years ago from an uncle who was retiring from the land. This unit he bougtht in the 60s from another property in the Bathurst area and for many years used it to shear his modest flock of merino crossbred sheep himself.

It's a 2hp Cooper TB enclosed engine mounted on the original Cooper rails and frame with complete shearing gear, including grinding wheel, It's all in original condition and we expect it will not take an excessive amount of work to get it going again one day.

The Cooper went unused for the last few years of my uncle's time at the farm and he couldn't locate the handpieces when we collected the engine. Fortunately a fellow enthisiast fromTamworth is a shearing handpiece collector and generously helped us out with a correct EB handpiece and information. We have since located another handpiece and a few little NOS items for the TB engine at swap meets.
